						HMOZ / arquitectura experimental.
						HMOZ es una práctica de arquitectura experimental fundada en 2007 (Montevideo, Uruguay).
Nos interesa la relación entre la cultura y el espacio construido.
Creemos profundamente en el poder de la comunicación y el diálogo,
tanto a nivel humano como arquitectónico.
Nuestro acercamiento al proyecto se
produce mediante la observación y la deriva, generando hipervínculos
productivos. Exploramos caminos alternativos con una confianza plena
en los procesos, serendipias y resultados que aporten valor.
Aplicamos una filosofía de 'acción masiva imperfecta', buscando crear
sinergias entre naturaleza y arquitectura.
Incorporamos elementos honestos creando ambientes que celebran la belleza
en la imperfección. Cada situación o problema es una oportunidad para actuar
o simplemente apreciar. Nuestro modus operandi y áreas de acción
son diversas. Abarcamos proyectos culturales, residenciales, comerciales,
urbanos, instalaciones efímeras, consultoría técnica, curaduría e investigación.
Creemos en la colaboración con el fin de llevar adelante proyectos integrales,
por eso trabajamos con un gran equipo de asesores técnicos especializados,
ingenieros, paisajistas,
y con disciplinas hermanas como
diseñadores industriales, gráficos y artistas locales.
Desarrollamos proyectos desde la conceptualización y diseño hasta la
ejecución en el sitio específico. Construimos mediante la prefabricación
y montaje, y
también con mano de obra local y artesanal. Los contextos definen las formas.
Las ficciones definen
nuestras formas.
HMOZ es una práctica lúdica aplicada con profesionalismo, oficio
y especial cuidado en los detalles, sean estos crudos y austeros,
o complejos y de alta tecnología.

						YAFU es un espacio independiente de prácticas emergentes de Uruguay.
YAFU hace visible a una nueva generación de arquitectos/as que dan
respuestas tangibles a necesidades concretas.
YAFU cuestiona el status quo de las lógicas de producción en la arquitectura
local. Los espacios construidos no se caracterizan por un estilo preestablecido,
 sino por una sensibilidad
compartida. Operando en múltiples escalas de aproximación, la plataforma
se amplía y contrae a medida de las necesidades, generando diferentes
acercamientos al proyecto arquitectónico.
YAFU es colaborativo.
YAFU es una nueva manera de aportar valor a través de la arquitectura.
						VISIONES MATERIALES son exposiciones diseñadas y producidas por YAFU,
que exploran la relación entre la imagen y la materialidad en una
generación de prácticas emergentes. A través del diálogo entre una serie
de imágenes (reales o imaginadas) y una colección de
objetos (materiales y prototipos) la muestra ilustra nuestra forma

Al encontrarse en el terreno contiguo, se decide trabajar en conjunto para lograr una integración armónica con el paisaje y respetar el porcentaje de ocupación del suelo.

Casa RIO se inscribe como el negativo de Casa cumbres dentro de un rectángulo que mantiene el %FOS, la relación área-volumen y los parámetros de diseño que se aplicaron en la primera vivienda, creando así una conexión formal y conceptual entre ambos proyectos.

El diseño de Casa RIO se compone de volúmenes heterogéneos y disgregados que definen la organización programática de la vivienda. Un volumen principal alberga el área social, una zona flexible, la cocina y los servicios higiénicos. Otro volumen contiene el dormitorio principal en suite, mientras que los dos últimos volúmenes resuelven el parrillero, los depósitos y otras áreas de servicio.

Sobre esta estructura se instala la plataforma, sobre la cual se lleva adelante la construcción de los volúmenes habitacionales que se realizan con un sistema constructivo de panelizado de madera prefabricado y se reviste de madera, adoptando en algunos planos el policarbonato para iluminar y ampliar los espacios interiores.

La intervención en la casa Bonifacio construída en los 80’, consistió en sustituir 30 metros
lineales de fachada de muro portante de ladrillo, soporte de la cubierta de bóvedas de
cerámica armada, por una viga metálica de 33,5 metros apoyada sobre 5 pilares de
hormigón armado moldeados in situ, y por un gran plano vidriado.

						Se propone así una nueva relación con el entorno y una revalorización de la preexistencia.

						
La nueva estructura de la fachada renace sin sus antiguas pieles. Esta libertad de sistemas
permite una interacción lúdica entre diferentes entidades plásticas y funcionales: nueve
bóvedas, una viga, cinco pilares y un plano.

						
Preservando la esencia de la casa, las bóvedas de cerámica armada, se restauraron en su
totalidad y fueron suspendidas mediante un nuevo "objeto" que se presenta enajenado.
Mediante contraste y contradicción, la viga subraya el carácter principal. La viga, ajena a la
composición previa, se apoya en cinco pilares "extraños", ficcionalmente piedras. Un juego
que pone en valor a sus participantes desde su franqueza expresiva.

						
Los muros han sido reemplazados, permitiendo una integración y proyección más generosa
entre patio norte, espacio interior y jardín sur hacia la playa. La viga es a la vez sustento de
las bóvedas y costura longitudinal, reemplazando el tensor continuo demolido junto al muro
de carga original. Por dentro a modo de ‘curtain-wall inverso’ un amplio plano vidriado,
incluso en los espacios curvos justo por debajo de las bóvedas, realzando así la potencia de
éstas y ganando luminosidad.

						
Los 5 apoyos puntuales constituyeron un ejercicio iterativo, de ensayo y error. Conformados
in situ artesanalmente, el paso del tiempo los seguirá alterando, con manchas, colores y
nuevas rugosidades. Realmente vivos y cambiantes al igual que los característicos ladrillos.
Entidades artesanales que celebran la belleza en la imperfección.

						
Comprender la intervención y su valor añadido en términos de superficie construida es
limitante; quizás resulte más interesante preguntarse sobre qué impacto tiene un cambio en
la fachada sobre el conjunto construído. La intervención transforma la relación
casa-entorno, celebrando la belleza y funcionalidad estructural, convirtiéndola en elemento
esencial del diseño. La colaboración con expertos y la ejecución meticulosa muestran un
modo donde la ficción contemporánea permite coexistir con la rica historia. Ejecutada por
Dieste y Montañez, expertos en cerámica armada, demostrando excelencia, tanto en obra
como en estudio, en lo técnico y en lo humano, con un objetivo común, de revalorizar esta
delgada lámina cerámica.
